The Valade Gallery at Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ is currently featuring a solo exhibition by Aaron Brandt titled “Low Pressure Systems.” A reception is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with Brandt speaking at 6 p.m. The exhibit ends on February 1.
Brandt is best known for his combination of photography, illustration and sculptural pieces. His work focuses on Middle American culture relating to the environmental and social ideas that are active there. He often asks viewers to interact with installations, utilizing materials that relate to his subject and the connectedness it encompasses. This body of work focuses on weather, clouds and the relationship humanity has with the sublime.
The Valade Gallery is located in the rear of Shipman Library on the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Campus. Free parking is available on Williams Street. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with extended hours on Tuesday until 7 p.m.
